ColourQ #103

Welcome back, friends!  It's a dreary day here, so I'm more than happy to be sharing some cheerful hues for this week's ColourQ challenge.  Wouldn't these dishes brighten up anyone's day?

The florals had me thinking immediately of Stampin' Up!'s Fabulous Florets.  After a few trials on scrap paper to get the right placement, I stamped the leaves with Pear Pizzazz in the bottom left corner of a white cardstock panel.  I added the large solid blossom in Wisteria Wonder.

It's hard to tell in the photo, but the large open flower is stamped in red and the smaller flowers are stamped in Calypso Coral.  I cut these out and popped them up on foam dots.

The sentiment is from PTI's Signature Greetings, and the whole panel has a pretty texture from the Linen & Canvas impression plate.  I adhered it to a Wisteria Wonder card base and wrapped some gorgeous Coral ruffled ribbon around the top.

Cardstock:  Stampin' Up! (Wisteria Wonder), Papertrey Ink (white)
Stamps:  Stampin' Up! (Fabulous Florets), Papertrey Ink (Signature Greetings)
Ink:  Stampin' Up! (Wisteria Wonder, Pear Pizzazz, Calypso Coral), Clearsnap (Scarlet)
Tools:  Papertrey Ink (Linen & Canvas impression plate)
Accessories:  Stampin' Up! (ribbon)

This card is on its way to an amazing friend of mine.  I think she'll like it!

I hope you'll play along with us at the ColourQ this week!  Be sure to check out the samples from the rest of the Royal Court DT and link up your creation to be in the running for Colour Queen.

Thanks for visiting today!  Have a good one!

ColourQ #93 & Simply Scrapping Crafts Embossing

Good morning!  It is already HOT here, and I'm not looking forward to another 90+ degree day with no A/C.  I hope you're staying cool wherever you are!

There is one thing to look forward to today--a new ColourQ challenge!  This week we have a bright and colorful palette inspired by a floral rug.  I'm also participating in a new-to-me challenge at Simply Scrapping Crafts, and the challenge this week is to use embossing.

I decided to use a recent favorite technique, color blocking!  I punched squares of red, pear, and peach, then stamped and heat embossed a white leaf image from WPlus9's Woodgrain Silhouettes Additions.  For the last square, I punched it from white cardstock and stamped the solid leaf image in Marina Mist.

I attached the color blocks to a white cardstock panel matted with Marina Mist.  I stamped a sentiment from WPlus9's Funky Foliage and added a popped up, stamped bird from Woodgrain Silhouettes Additions.  It's hard to see in the photo, but I scored two lines under the sentiment because it was looking a little empty.

The whole panel is popped up on a card base embossed with SU's Elegant Lines folder.

Cardstock:  Stampin' Up! (Marina Mist, Pear Pizazz, Peach Parfait), Papertrey Ink (white, Pure Poppy)
Stamps:  WPlus9 Design Studio (Woodgrain Silhouettes Additions, Funky Foliage)
Ink:  Stampin' Up! (Marina Mist), Versamark
Tools:  Stampin' Up! (Elegant Lines embossing folder), Martha Stewart (Scoring Board)
Accessories:  Stampendous (white embossing powder)

I'm looking forward to seeing your creations with this fun color palette!  Be sure to stop by and see the rest of the fabulous Design Team samples for inspiration.

Thanks for your visit today!  Have a great Tuesday!

CR84FN32 & Card Patterns 120

Hello friends!  It's a rainy day here, so I turned to the current color challenge at CR84FN for a little sunshine!  These fresh colors are paired up with this week's sketch at Card Patterns.

I've been doing a lot of CAS cards lately, so I felt like going a tiny bit shabby on this one.  I used several stamps from SU's Nature Walk to create a little botanical collage on white cardstock, then stamped French script over the top with Ranger's Antique Linen Distress Ink.  I used PTI's Linen & Canvas impression plate to add some texture to the panel before matting it with Hawaiian shores cardstock.

On the card base is a Lemon Tart panel embossed with Framed Tulips, a gift from my sweet friend Nance.  I added a strip of New Leaf cardstock and a Hawaiian Shores border cut with PTI's Victorian Lace border die.  The wrinkled ribbon was originally white, but I sponged it with Distress Ink to match the sponging on the rest of the card.

For the sentiment, I stamped "best wishes" from PTI's Mat Stack 2 Collection onto a banner, then added a few pearls as accents.

Cardstock:  Papertrey Ink (Lemon Tart, Hawaiian Shores, New Leaf, white)
Stamps:  Stampin' Up! (Nature Walk, En Francais), Papertrey Ink (Mat Stack 2 Collection)
Ink:  Papertrey Ink (Hawaiian Shores), Studio G (green), Ranger (Antique Linen)
Tools:  Stampin' Up! (Framed Tulips embossing folder), Papertrey Ink (Victorian Lace Border die, Double Ended Banner die, Linen & Canvas impression plate), We R Memory Keepers (Corner Chomper)
Accessories:  Michaels (pearls), Prairie Bird Boutique (wrinkle ribbon)

This card will be going out in the mail to a friend who's embarking on a new adventure soon.  Love when I can have a recipient in mind as I create.

Thanks for your visit today!  I hope the sun is shining wherever you are.  Have a good one!
