CAS-ual Fridays #59--Round & Round

Happy Friday, friends!  I loved seeing all of your pink creations last week for the CAS-ual Fridays challenge.  This week we have another fun challenge, along with a great sponsor.

This week's theme is "Round & Round"--use 2 circles in your clean and simple design.  A circle card base can count as one of the circles.

Our generous sponsor is The Twinery, and they are offering up a fantastic prize to this week's winner. Thanks to The Twinery for providing the DT with some of their beautiful baker's twine, too!

I think I got a little carried away with the circles on my card, but technically you can only see 2 full circles--the scalloped circle "sun" and the orange button in the middle.  *smile*

I've been trying to use some stamps that haven't seen any ink yet, including the Grunged Rays from A Muse Studio and the starburst from WPlus9's Super Star.

I wrapped Lemondrop baker's twine from The Twinery around a scalloped circle, then nestled an orange button with a sparkly heart in the center.

Cardstock:  Stampin' Up! (So Saffron, Peach Parfait), WPlus9 Design Studio (White)
Stamps:  A Muse Studio (Grunged Rays), WPlus9 Design Studio (Super Star), Papertrey Ink (Tag-its #3)
Ink:  Stampin' Up! (So Saffron, Peach Parfait), Memento (Tuxedo Black)
Tools:  Spellbinders (scalloped circle die), Papertrey Ink (impression plate)
Accessories:  The Twinery (Lemondrop baker's twine), Papertrey Ink (button), DMC floss

Sorry to keep this short, but I have two more posts to schedule, then I need pack for my weekend trip!  Be sure to stop by the CAS-ual Fridays blog to see the rest of the Girl Friday creations and find out what you can win this week.

Have a great Friday!

Card Patterns sketch #163

Hello!  How's your weekend going so far?  It's a beautiful but chilly day here in the Northeast, but that's okay since I have quite a few indoor projects to work on, including some crafting!

It's time for a new challenge at Card Patterns, and this week we have a fun sketch from Nina Brackett:

You could also win an assortment of stickers from SRM if you play along with us--stop by the Card Patterns blog to see the loot and link up your design!

This week I decided to ink up a stamp that had yet to see any love, this big silhouette of the U.S. from A Muse.  I love that it fills up a lot of space on a card to make a big impact, plus I can see myself using it for travel-themed layouts.

I stamped the heart over my home state, Indiana, as I'm thinking I'll leave this card for my hubby when the kids and I travel west this summer to visit my family.  The sentiment is from the same A Muse set.

Cardstock:  Papertrey Ink (Pure Poppy, White)
Patterned paper:  Papertrey Ink (Distressed Dots)
Stamps:  A Muse Studio (Wish You Were Here)
Ink:  Stampin' Up! (Baja Breeze, Real Red)
Tools:  Papertrey Ink (double ended banner die)
Accessories:  Ribbon Carousel (natural jute twine), Papertrey Ink (button)

I hope you have time to get crafty this weekend!  Thanks so much for your visits and comments!

The 12 Kits of Christmas--March

Yes, it's that time again!  The end of each month is quickly becoming one of my favorite times, because I look forward to The 12 Kits of Christmas post.  If you have no idea what this is, feel free to check out my first post from January HERE, but the basic idea is that a group of 12 of us create holiday cards each month using the same kit provided by one of the members.

This month's kit was put together by my sweet friend, Suzanne of The Card Yard.  It was loaded with goodies, including tons of gorgeous ribbon, a variety of stamped images, pretty papers, and even embellishments.  Here's a peek at some of it (thanks to Kara for the photo!):

I'm embarrassed to say that there were some beautiful stamped images in the kit that I wound up not using, mostly because I wasn't happy with my coloring.  *oops!*  But luckily there were still plenty of beautiful sentiments and images to use.

The patterned papers in this kit were so lovely, I kept my designs very simple to let them shine.

Cardstock:  Papertrey Ink (Vintage Cream)
Patterned paper:  Stampin' Up! (Holly Berry Bouquet)
Stamp:  A Muse Studio (Vintage Holiday Greetings)
Tools:  A Muse Studio (Vintage Labels 1 die), corner rounder

Cardstock:  Stampin' Up! (Garden Green)
Patterned paper:  Cosmo Cricket (Mitten Weather)

Tool:  corner rounder
Accessories:  Papertrey Ink (buttons), ribbon (leftover from Feb. kit), Ranger (Diamond Stickles), thread

Cardstock:  Papertrey Ink (Pure Poppy), Stampin' Up! (Garden Green)
Patterned paper:  Stampin' Up! (Holly Berry Bouquet)
Stamps:  A Muse Studio (Vintage Holiday Greetings), Waltzingmouse (Vintage Labels 18)
Tools:  A Muse Studio (Vintage Labels 1 die), Spellbinders (Labels 8), corner rounder
Accessories:  Stampin' Up! (ribbon), pearls, thread

Cardstock:  Papertrey Ink (Kraft)
Patterned paper:  Stampin' Up! (Holly Berry Bouquet), A Muse Studio (Candy Cane Stripe)
Stamp:  A Muse Studio (Vintage Holiday Greetings)
Tools:  A Muse Studio (Vintage Labels 1 die), EK Success (border punch)

I still have tons of supplies left to use on more cards, and I'm sure I'll be CASEing some ideas from my fellow 12 Kit Designers:

Suzanne:  The Card Yard
Kara: KandRDesigns
Sharron: OnPapillionWings
Jeanne: AKeptLife

Be sure to visit all of them for some holiday inspiration--it's never too early to get started on those Christmas cards!

Thanks for your visit!  See you back in a few hours for a new Card Patterns sketch!
