ColourQ #121

Hello, friends!  Glad you could join me today for a new challenge at the ColourQ!    I can't wait to see your creations with this color combo:

I had a few too many things on my mind when making my card, so I'm not totally happy with the way it turned out, but sometimes that's just how it goes.  The teacups seem to be floating in space and need something to ground them, but my brain was not working well enough to find a solution, so this is how it will stay for now!

I stamped the teacups in Real Red, Old Olive, and More Mustard on a kraft card base that is only 3 3/4 inches wide.  I stamped the bottom using PTI's Background Basics:  Tin Types, then stamped a sentiment from Tea for Two on a white strip of cardstock.

To finish the card, I added some white dots to the cups with a gel pen, scored a frame around the edge, and tied some olive floss around the card front.  I suggest cutting a small notch in the edge of the card to keep your floss in place, as you can see in the photo below.

Cardstock:  Papertrey Ink (Kraft, White)
Stamps:  Papertrey Ink (Tea for Two and Additions, Background Basics:  Tin Types)
Ink:  Stampin' Up! (Old Olive, Real Red, More Mustard), white gel pen
Tools:  scoring board, hole punch, corner rounder
Accessories:  DMC floss

Please visit the ColourQ blog to see the rest of the team's samples!

Thanks for visiting today!

I don't think it looks like the teacups are just floating in space...actually I really like it :) I love that you stamped on kraft...I never do that, but it looks great!

Love your teacup card Christina, this set is still one of my many all-time favorites. I really likethe color combination and your scoring around the entire card as well as the added little white dots is perfect. Another great job & I think the cups look perfect the way they are.

You are way too hard on yourself because this is fabulous! The white dots sent me to the moon - I love how the "match" (if that's the right word) the stamped border stamp at the bottom. I love the colors too...I may try this one out this week!

I LOVE this---not a thing wrong with it! I wish I could get my gel pen to work this well. I just threw mine away, I was so frustrated! Everything about it is wonderful!

You should get commission for this set because I'm sure you're responsible for a heck of a lot of purchases! Love how those colours looked stamped on kraft and the scored line and floss are perfect touches!

Absolutely gorgeous Christina! I didn't believe the ink would stamp so cleanly on kraft card stock but now I've seen your beautiful card I might do mine again using a kraft base. I love your sentiment too but am afraid that it may not be entirely true!
