Ten wonderful years

Hi there, friends!  I have been absent from blog land for a couple of days as my hubby and I celebrated our tenth wedding anniversary yesterday, June 30.  I thought I would give you a little peek at what I made for him, a mini album of Top Ten lists from our time together.

I got the idea for the album itself from THIS pin on Pinterest.  I took ten 3.5 X 6.25 inch manilla envelopes, cut off the flaps, and covered them with papers from PTI's Library Ledger.  Each envelope is unique, with a variety of stamps from many different companies, but they all use a color combo of Vintage Cream, Dark Chocolate, Ocean Tides, and Aqua Mist.

Inside each envelope is a card cut from Vintage Cream cardstock and stamped with ledger lines and numbers 1-10.  Each card has a Top Ten list of things I want to remember about our lives together so far, some sentimental and some more humorous.  It was a lot of fun to put together!

To bind the envelopes into an album, I simply punched two holes on the left side, added binder rings, and tied a few ribbons on each ring.

But what I really want to share with you is what my darling husband did for me.  He is a former musician with an enormous collection of CDs, and he has an incredible memory for when he first heard certain songs or albums.  So for our anniversary, he burned three CDs of songs that remind him of me and events in our lives.  The whole thing is arranged chronologically, and for each song he wrote an explanation of the song's meaning to him that I had to read before playing the track.  He typed it all up and made inserts for the CD cases, then had our kids draw pictures on the remaining pages.

Now my hubby will be the first to tell you that he is not overly romantic, and we have never made a big deal about our anniversaries or birthdays.  But this just blew me away, because he put so much time and thought into it, and because I know how important music and lyrics are to him, so I know it is heartfelt. I know that I will be reading his sweet words to me over and over and playing those CDs until I wear them out.  Yep, I'm pretty blessed.

If you've made it this far, thanks for letting me share this part of my life with you!  I promise to be back with a card tomorrow, and I hope to get back to commenting over the weekend.

Have a great night!

What lovely thoughtful things you have both done. I think the best gifts aren't the most expensive, but one given with alot of thought, as these are. Happy Anniversary.

Happy anniversary, girl! My hubby and I celebrate our 10th on the 6th of this month, but we already got away on a little Eureka Springs Getaway to celebrate as the real day falls the day before my son's 8th birthday. Anyway, your album is perfectly thoughtful and memorable. Your hubby is so lucky to have you!

I can't tell you how much I love this post. Both because I got to know so much more about you, but also because that project is so stinkin' sweet! I might have to steal it for my upcoming anniversary, actually. And your husband's gift sounds amazing. Yay for awesome hubbies! Cheers to both of you, and here's to many, many more!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!! Ah, love love love this album! The stamping on patterned paper is delightful and I adore the colors! So, you were in Boliver? I LOVE that little place, so near and dear to my heart. My maternal grandmothers ancestors lived there for 6 generations...and I have yet to stay at the Zoar Tavern Inn. That is another awesome place to visit! Anywho! Loved reading tidbits about your relationship, so sweet!
