I'm Sew Excited Challenge in the Moxie Fab World

Happy weekend, friends!  Before I get to today's card, I just want to apologize for being scarce in blogland lately.  My daughter's dance recital is tonight, so this week has been packed with rehearsals, visiting family, and the endless number of tasks that have been populating my to-do list.  I hope to get back to creating and commenting soon!

For today, I wanted to share a recent reject for a magazine call that fits the I'm Sew Excited Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.  I have been doing a lot more sewing recently, so this trendy theme is one that I'm loving.

I used PTI's Quilter's Sampler to stamp the thread spool repeatedly on kraft cardstock, then cut them out.  I wrapped each one with embroidery floss and popped them up on foam adhesive, leaving an opening for the sentiment.  I sketched a small heart to fit in the space inside the stamped needle and thread, then cross-stitched it with floss.  Love how this reinforces the "sewn with love" part of the sentiment.

Cardstock:  Papertrey Ink (Rustic Cream, Kraft), Stampin' Up! (Rose Red)
Stamps:  Papertrey Ink (Quilter's Sampler)
Ink:  Papertrey Ink (Dark Chocolate)
Tools:  We R Memory Keepers (Corner Chomper)
Accessories:  DMC floss

The wish that I could have added some texture with the Linen & Canvas impression plate, but the card measures 5 X 5 so I couldn't have covered the entire panel.  Still, I love how it turned out!

Thanks for stopping in today, friends!  Have a wonderful weekend!

Don't know if I would have the patience to sew twine on each spool, but it sure looks great :) Enjoy the dance recital!

Honestly, I was just in the car about half an hour ago, thinking about this challenge, and I thought, I should do a grid of threaded spools. HA! But you did a much better job with it than I probably would have. :) I can't believe this was ever a reject. Beauteous, my dear!
