Papertrey Ink April Blog Hop

Hi friends!  I almost forgot about Papertrey's monthly blog hop!  Eek!  So glad I saw a few posts this morning to remind me, then found a few minutes this afternoon to put something together.  This month's challenge is all about the guys!  We were challenged to make a masculine project, and I chose to make a gift tag for a little guy that has removable truck magnets.

This couldn't be easier to make!  I die cut each of the trucks with the PTI Truckin' It die from white cardstock and two layers of thin chipboard.  When glued together, this makes each truck a little more sturdy.  You could just as easily stack several layers of cardstock, but I've had this chipboard in my stash forever and needed to use some of it!

Each truck is stamped and colored with Copic markers, with some clear glitter Spica pen on the headlights.   I attached a magnetic strip to the back of each one, then used a removable glue dot to adhere them to the tag.

All supplies from Papertrey Ink unless noted
Cardstock:  Kraft, white
Patterned paper:  New England Chowder:  Clam Juice (Jillibean Soup)
Stamps:  Boy Basics:  Truckin' It
Ink:  Black (Inkadinkadoo), Copic markers, Spica clear glitter pen
Tools:  Truckin' It die, Tag Sale #1 die
Accessories:  ribbon (Michael's), baker's twine (The Twinery), chipboard, magnetic strips (craft supply)

The tag is two layers to give it some extra weight, one layer of plain kraft cardstock and one layer of this fun Jillibean Soup patterned paper.  I stamped the sentiment "hey buddy!" onto kraft cardstock, drew a dialogue bubble around it, cut it out, and adhered it to the tag.  Some ribbon tied with baker's twine finished it off.

You can see the back of the blue truck here with the attached magnet and removable glue dot.  These will be a fun addition to a gift!

Thanks for stopping by tonight!  I hope to have a chance to hop soon, too!  Enjoy!

Okay I love the magnet idea, how cool is that... and I said I didn't "need" that set, even though I have a truck obsessed young man, and your tag isn't helping my resolve.

Hi Christina - I love your tag and was inspired to make a card ( without the UBER COOL magnets!!!) which you can see at

http://me35.wordpress.com/2011/08/11/fillin-that-birthday-book/

I hope to enter it into a European competition on A Passion For Papertrey, but I would like you to okay it - I don't know if you think it's too close to your idea. I have credited your inspiration in my blog post, but I'm just checking as I don't want to toe-step anyone. Whatever your decision, thanks for your continous inpiration and eye-candy !
