ColourQ #75

Good morning, friends!  I'm so glad you stopped by today.  It's Tuesday, which means a brand new set of colors at the ColourQ!  Check out the "sweet" inspiration for this week:

This photo reminds me of my daughter's first birthday party, when I spent hours making cute little marzipan zoo animals to grace the tops of her cupcakes.  Almost five years later I'm much more likely to let the local bakery do all of the work!  (Leaves me more time for stamping, of course.)

The photo inspired me to make a baby card, which I don't do very often.  I used PTI's Baby Button Bits to stamp the bee image onto white cardstock and vellum.  I cut the wings out of the vellum and curled the ends before attaching them to the bee.  Black stitches on a yellow button mimic a bumble bee's stripes.  The edges of the white panel are sponged with aqua ink to soften them up.

I used PTI's Book Print impression plate on the Aqua Mist card base, but if you have this plate you know that it is oriented horizontally.  So I had the idea to deboss the top and bottom of the card, leaving a blank strip towards the bottom where I layered a sentiment banner.  I think it makes for a fun little detail.

Cardstock:  Papertrey Ink (Aqua Mist, white), Stampin' Up! (Pumpkin Pie), vellum
Stamps:  Papertrey Ink (Baby Button Bits)
Ink:  Inkadinkadoo (Black), Clearsnap (Seaglass), Spica glitter pen
Tools:  Papertrey Ink (Book Print impression plate), Martha Stewart (Scoring board), Fiskars (border punch)
Accessories:  Me & My Big Ideas (rhinestones), button, DMC floss

That's all from me, folks.  I'm battling a steadily worsening cold, so I'm off to get some rest.  I'll be back soon!  Thanks for checking in!

Fantastic details throughout this card! Love your creative solution for the debossing and the banner. Love the three gems - it's like a sparkling summer day. And, of course, I love the colors - but colourQ is good that way, aren't they??!!
