The 12 Kits of Christmas--May

Hi there, friends!  Welcome back for the May edition of The 12 Kits of Christmas!  If you're fairly new to the blog, you can read more about The 12 Kits group challenge in the January installment HERE.

This month's challenge has a fun twist--hostess Joyce sent us packages full of Hanukkah-themed supplies!  Here's a peek at some of the wonderful goodies she included (thanks to Kara for the photo!):

I've never made a card for Hanukkah, so it was especially fun getting to play with these colors and images.  I only had time to make 2 cards this month as we've been busy with end-of-school activities, but I have tons of supplies left to work with and plan to revisit them in the near future!

For my first card I wanted to use these gorgeous doilies from Memory Box that Joyce included in the kit.  I layered two of them behind a die-cut oval and a dreidel from PTI's Mazel Tov, which I cut out and popped up with foam tape.

This is one of the great patterned papers Joyce included from a digital kit she found on Etsy.

Cardstock:  Papertrey Ink (Enchanted Evening, Spring Rain, White)
Patterned paper:  Etsy
Stamps:  Papertrey Ink (Mazel Tov)
Tools:  Memory Box (Whimsy Circle die), Papertrey Ink (double ended banner die), Spellbinders (oval die)
Accessories:  Queen & Co. (rhinestones), thread

My second card uses these cute postage stamps with menorah images from Mazel Tov and Impression Obsession's Jewish Greetings.

Cardstock:  Papertrey Ink (Blueberry Sky, White)
Patterned paper:  Etsy
Stamps:  Papertrey Ink (Mazel Tov), Impression Obsession (Jewish Greetings)
Tools:  Papertrey Ink (pinked square die, banner die), Spellbinders (postage die)
Accessories:  Papertrey Ink (button), The Twinery (baker's twine), thread

I'll keep this short so you can hop along to see what the rest of the girls made!

Thanks for stopping by to see my creations!  Come back soon for my CASE Study card!

It's not the quantity, but the quality, right? Both of your cards are just stunning, and I want to CASE them both (except poor me cannot sew). I love how you layered those Memory Box dies and popped the dreidel up on the first card, and how fun to combine the two different menorah images in the second card.

Hi Christina! I love your cards! They both look like so much fun - what a treat either would be to receive. The yellow and blue, the dredle at an angle, the two Menorahs at a angle with the button - just seem to add a bit of fun and whimsy. I like that you added the bling on the tag on the first and how you highlighted the larger Menorah on the second with a brush of yellow - makes it stand out more!

These are fun, and now when you forgot someone on your Christmas card list who happens to be Jewish you'll have just the right card, love the idea of your swap.

How SMART to color in the menorah! It really pops, and I would never have thought to do that! I love your cards today Christina, and the card with the dreidel, so cute with the stitching and combo of patterned papers. Love how you used two of the whimsy circles on the first card, really adds such dimension and almost a 3-D effect.

Fabulous, Christina! Love how you used stitched panels of the patterned papers. And what a great idea to pop up the dreidel and add some color! Your design on the Menorah card is just awesome. Love how you used the paper with both sizes of the dies cuts & then place them at an angle with a button--just fantastic!

Christina, you created such gorgeous cards with Joyce's Hanukkah kit. Those Memory Box dies are so amazing and I love how you layered them.

Wow stitching on both of your cards, so perfect and a classy touch. I would have never thought to layer those memory box dies, very clever and festive too. Your coloring of the Menorah makes it looks like all of the candles are lit...I love that you used the stamped images and paper all with the Menorah, so elegant and beautiful.

Christina, your cards are perfect and simply beautiful!
The stitching you added to your card is such a warm touch. Love the way you put together the last one with both Menorah’s . This sure was a fun kit, and love the cards you came up with!

Oh Christina, wow! I love them both. The stitching really makes them. I love the way you layered the two dies to make such a stunning focal point, and the layout of the first card is great. I never thought of using both menorah stamps together, but it looks so perfect :) Love the little yellow button tied with twine, too. Great job!

Hi Christina! I think the layered doily things are fabulous done up this way. I can never do "tilted" layouts too well but you did a great job! I love how it looks with the 2 menorah images and the sweet addition of a single button! Sounds like you need some slowing down time too! :)

I know I am late to the party but these were worth the wait!!! I never would have thought to cut out the images or double-layer the doilies...perfect, Christina!
