ColourQ #63 & FTL #120

Hello friends!  I know this is super late, but I just discovered that my ColourQ post for this week was never published!  I know some of you have had this issue with scheduled posts in the past, but this is the first time it has happened to me, so I'll have to keep an eye on it in the future!

Arielle chose a fun and festive color combo this week, and you still have 12 hours or so left to enter if you're up for it!

I chose to make a New Year's card using the latest sketch at the clean&simple blog.

I don't have SU's Red, Kiwi, or Bermuda, so I subbed PTI's Pure Poppy and Hawaiian Shores and used Clearsnap Moss Green ink.  I stamped the white cardstock with PTI's Distressed Stripes, one of my favorite sets for pulling together several colors in a design.  The snowflakes were cut with Spellbinders' Create a Flake One dies and layered with a Poppy button and baker's twine from The Twinery (I can't get enough of this stuff!).  I inked up part of a longer sentiment from PTI's Signature Christmas to stamp "Happy New Year".

Cardstock:  Papertrey Ink (Hawaiian Shores, white), Stampin' Up! (Chocolate Chip)
Stamps:  Papertrey Ink (Distressed Stripes, Signature Christmas)
Ink:  Papertrey Ink (Dark Chocolate, Hawaiian Shores), Clearsnap (Cranberry, Moss Green)
Tools:  Spellbinders (Create a Flake One dies), EK Success (corner rounder)
Accessories:  Michaels (ribbon), Papertrey Ink (buttons), The Twinery (baker's twine), thread

I hope you enjoy this colorful take on a winter theme!  Remember to hop over to the ColourQ blog to see the rest of the samples from the Royal Court DT and submit your creation.

Thanks for stopping by!

I was wondering about that Christina. Coz I saw it up on CQC but I couldn't find it on your blog to comment. This is such a gorgeous card! I wanted to get that Spellbinders dies too! I should have.

I love, love, love how you used the distressed stripes on this one! The snowflakes with the button in the middle and twine is the perfect embellishment! Very pretty!
