Card Patterns #92 & Card Creations Birthday challenge

Hi there!  I had planned to post this card last night, but that obviously didn't happen!  I wanted to make a card for this week's Card Patterns sketch, which had me thinking stripes.  I have already made a resolution to use more of my patterned paper stash in the coming year, so this is a start!

How about this cute alligator?  I've had this stamp for a long time and thought he'd be perfect for a little boy's birthday card.  So I'll also be entering this one over at Moxie Fab World for the Card Creations Birthday Card Challenge.  The alligator and watermark stars are from a set by Sandylion, and the sentiment is from PTI's Just the Ticket.

Cardstock:  Papertrey Ink (Pure Poppy, Aqua Mist, Vintage Cream)
Patterned paper:  Cosmo Cricket (The Boyfriend)
Stamps:  Sandylion (Boy Clear Stamp set), Papertrey Ink (Just the Ticket, Signature Greetings)
Ink:  Inkadinkadoo (Black), Versamark, ColorBox (Moss Green)
Tools:  Spellbinders (oval, scallop oval dies), Papertrey Ink (eyelet border, medium scallop border dies), EK Success (corner rounder)
Accessories:  Papertrey Ink (felt), Ranger (Enamel Accents), thread
Coloring medium:  Prismacolor Premier pencils

I finished off the inside with another alligator, uncolored this time, and a sentiment from PTI's Signature Greetings.

To make this card:
1.  Make card base from red cardstock.  Cut patterned paper strip, stitch around edges, and adhere to bottom.
2.  Cut aqua cardstock strip, round top coners, and stamp with stars.  Stitch around edges and adhere to card.
3.  Die cut medium scalloped border from red cardstock and eyelet border from green felt.  Stitch together and adhere to card.
4.  Die cut oval from cream cardstock.  Stamp alligator image and color.  Stamp sentiment.  Add dots on eyes and under sentiment with Enamel Accents.  Mat with red, die cut scalloped oval.  Attach to card with foam adhesive.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Have a great day!
