Color Cue 8 & 2S4Y #62

Hello!  We're one day closer to the weekend, yippee!  I have another last minute challenge card, this time for the Color Cue from WPlus9.  Dawn just released three new stamp sets this morning, so I may have to stick around to do some shopping after I link up my card!  This color combo was harder than I thought it would be, but I finally put together something I like, with the help of Laura's sketch at 2 Sketches 4 You.

I used Dawn's set, Mehndi Medallions to stamp some white "snowflakes" onto Scarlet Jewel cardstock, then heat embossed them with glitter embossing powder.  The images are normally much more crisp than on this card, but I just got a new white ink pad and it is super juicy!  I also sponged some white ink on the panel to soften it up.

The Simply Chartreuse eyelet borders and felt tree were cut with PTI dies.  I embellished the tree with a few Scarlet Jewel buttons and Lemon Tart circles coated with Diamond Stickles.  Just a tip--I originally cut yellow eyelet borders but didn't like them.  But I kept the little circles that were cut out of the centers to use on my tree!

Cardstock:  Papertrey Ink (Scarlet Jewel, Simply Chartreuse, Lemon Tart, white)
Stamps:  WPlus9 (Mehndi Medallions)
Ink:  Clearsnap (Frost White, Chianti)
Tools:  Papertrey Ink (tree die, eyelet border die), ProvoCraft (embossing folder), Fiskars (hole punch)
Accessories:  Papertrey Ink (buttons), Ranger (Diamond Stickles), Jo-Ann (embossing powder), thread, DMC floss

The sentiment is also from Mehndi Medallions.  The little tag is just a rectangle of white cardstock with the corners clipped with a hole punch.

My little guy's birthday is this weekend, so I have to get a couple of posts scheduled before then.  I hope you'll stop back in soon!  Thanks for visiting!

Well, I tried to use that color combo for my 2S4Y sketch too, but I didn't succeed. :( You did a great job, this is really pretty and just the right touch of yellow!
