Welcome back for the last day of sneak peeks of the new release at Practicing Creativity Designs! Today the Design Team and Guest Designers have non-card projects to share, and I know you won't want to miss their wonderful creations. They are sure to get you in the holiday spirit, or at least inspired to start working on some handmade holiday projects of your own!
For my final release project, I used the adorable reindeer image from Retro Christmas to add to a frame of a favorite holiday picture of my kids. I knew it would be the perfect complement to this cute photo!
I purchased a plain wood frame for $1 at Michaels and covered it with patterned paper using several coats of Mod Podge. I used a Martha Stewart punch set and white cardstock to make a smaller frame around the photo opening and adhered it with more Mod Podge.
I stamped the deer from Retro Christmas with Dark Chocolate ink onto white cardstock, then added the antlers in Dune and the nose in Cranberry. LOVE that these are separate stamps to suit any theme or color scheme! I used white and black Enamel Accents from Ranger to make the eyes, though this little guy is just as cute as a silhouette. I cut out the image and covered it with Glossy Accents, then popped it up on foam adhesive over a die cut, felt tree embellished with buttons.
Cardstock: Papertrey Ink (white)
Patterned paper: Cloud 9 Design
Stamps: Practicing Creativity (Retro Christmas)
Ink: Papertrey Ink (Dark Chocolate), Clearsnap (Dune, Cranberry)
Tools: Papertrey Ink (tree die), Martha Stewart Crafts (border & corner punches)
Accessories: Papertrey Ink (felt, buttons, silk ribbon), Michaels (frame), DMC floss, Mod Podge
As a finishing touch, I added three buttons to another corner of the frame. The chartreuse button is tied with white silk ribbon that I stamped with candy cane stripes using another stamp from Retro Christmas. I can't wait to use this particular stamp on many more cards and projects!
I hope you've enjoyed the sneak peeks of this adorable new set! Be sure to hop over to the Practicing Creativity blog to see the rest of today's samples from Courtney, Dana, Paulina, Karen, Jackie, and Heather.
