The 12 Kits of Christmas--November

Yes, it's that time of the month again!  In case you're new to The 12 Kits of Christmas project, you can check out my original post HERE.  You can also check out all of the cards made by the group so far on Pinterest, thanks to Renee!

This month was Jeanne's turn to host, and I think we were all seriously overwhelmed by all of the goodies in our kit!  I didn't have as much time to create this month as I would have liked, so I've barely scratched the surface with this kit.  I can't wait to see what everyone else created with the beautiful die cuts and detailed stamps Jeanne included!

Before I forget, Jeanne is generously offering up a prize to one commenter this month.  You'll have to stop by her blog to get the details, but you can get a sneak peek of the prize on my first card.  :)

This was the first card I made, and it came together exactly as I had it pictured.  Love when that happens.  This gorgeous die cut ornament needed to be the star of the show, so I used a favorite layout, some subtle debossing, and a bit of bling to dress it up.

Cardstock:  Papertrey Ink (Pinefeather, Pure Poppy, Vintage Cream)
Patterned paper:  Basic Grey (Jovial:  Shopkeeper)
Stamp:  Serendipity (663D Merry)
Ink:  Stampin' Up! (Basic Black)
Tools:  Serendipity (ornament die), Spellbinders (tag die), Papertrey Ink (music impression plate)
Accessories:  Hug Snug (seam binding), Paper Studio (gems)

My second card is a departure from my comfort zone.  I don't often cover a card base with patterned paper, but I love this mistletoe pattern.  The poinsettias are Copic colored and fussy cut, with a touch of yellow Stickles in the center.

Cardstock:  Papertrey Ink (Vintage Cream), Graffix (Gold Foil Board)
Patterned paper:  Basic Grey (Jovial:  Winter Garden)
Stamps:  Serendipity (673K Large Poinsettia), Papertrey Ink (Wreath for all Seasons)
Ink:  Memento (Tuxedo Black), Copic markers
Tool:  Cheery Lynn (Holly Flourish die)
Other:  Ranger (Stickles)

Last is a very simple design with a great, detailed Santa image.  I simple cut an oval window in the patterned paper to frame the image, trimmed a sentiment strip, and added some stitching.

Cardstock:  Papertrey Ink (Vintage Cream)
Patterned paper:  Basic Grey (Jovial:  Merry Maker)
Stamps:  Serendipity (939E Santa, 665C Happy Holidays 2)
Ink:  Stampin' Up! (Basic Black), Copic markers, Papertrey Ink (Chamomile tea dye)
Tool:  Spellbinders (oval die)
Other:  thread

I have a few more ideas for this kit.  Now if I can just find the time!

Please stop by to see what the rest of the girls have made!  They always "wow" me with their creativity.

Christina you did me proud! Your poinettias are stunning - you color beautifully and I love the contrast to the mistletoe paper! The red ornament on the black debossed paper is striking, and that Santa looks so warm and cozy / home with the stitching and distressing! You always amaze me and this is no exception!

All of these card are really beautiful. I love how you kept to your own sense of style. You really let each of the focal points just shine. I think the first card is my favorite, but really, I loved them all.

These are all so beautiful! I love the bling on your ornament and that amazingly perfect bow. Your colored poinsettias are gorgeous and I adore Santa. It adds so much when you add stitching. Always makes me think I need to give it a try sometime, but I'm afraid mine wouldn't look quite the same!

You are just a good with the sewing machine as you are with stamping Christina! I love that Santa card with the stitching all around him...beautiful and such a great idea. I could never sew that perfect of a oval! Your poinsettias practically pop right off the page and I love how you added that beautiful holly flourish.

But that first card with the red ornament, that embossed deep green paper is just so beautiful and all the bling too, a fabulous touch. Love your first card especially with the impressed musical score.....was the perfect touch without making it too busy! I can't even imagine how much time it took you to color and fussy cut out that poinsettia image on card #2! Wow and it is perfect layered on that bold pattern!!! (I couldn't figure out how to use this paper but now have a card to CASE!) Gorgeous work Christina! Have a very merry Christmas!
