ColourQ #92

Good morning!  Happy belated Canada Day and Independence Day to my friends in Canada and the U.S.!  I hope you enjoyed your long weekend.

Another Tuesday means another ColourQ challenge!  The inspiration this week comes from this fun and modern clock that reminds me of high school chemistry:

Is anyone having nightmares about ball and stick models now?  *giggle*  My first thought was to make a card using PTI's Dot Spot, but then I remembered:  I don't have Dot Spot.  So I went browsing through my stamp collection until I came across Boxes, Bags, & Tags, which has a number of small circle frames, flourishes, and flowers.

I chose one of the circle frames and two of the flowers and stamped them across a white panel, leaving a space for a large sentiment and plenty of white space at the top.  The sentiment is from PTI's Think Big Favorites #2, stamped in black and heat embossed with clear powder.

I added a hand-drawn, black frame before adhering the panel to a Hawaiian Shores card base, with a strip of black cardstock about 1/3 of the way up from the bottom to emphasize the placement of the sentiment.

Cardstock:  Papertrey Ink (Hawaiian Shores, True Black, white)
Stamps:  Papertrey Ink (Boxes, Bags, & Tags, Think Big Favorites #2)
Ink:  Stampin' Up! (Tangerine Tango, Wild Wasabi), Papertrey Ink (Hawaiian Shores), Clearsnap (Black)
Accessories:  Me & My Big Ideas (rhinestones), Sakura (black pen), Stampendous (clear embossing powder)

I hope you'll play along with us at the ColourQ this week!  Thanks for stopping by today!  Have a great Tuesday!

I love the array of colors and images across this card. Very festive, yet so clean and attractive!

I had to giggle at your not having a particular stamp set. I do that all the time. "I HAVE to use this stamp set. Oh...wait...I love that set but I don't actually own it. I guess I will have to remedy that situation on my next order!"

Love how you've taken the ColourQ color samples and translated it into this fun card, no nightmares at all about being stuck. Thanks for the birthday wishes.

What a great color scheme and your design is perfect! I love the contrast of the white against all those colors, and this sentiment looks perfect here.

You'll have to get Dot Spots now, but really you've done super well with this set! What a creative idea and the large sentiment is gorgeous!

Christina, this is a great card!!! Love the placement of all your stamped images - I have a hard time with that, but you do it wonderfully :) I "met" another Massachusetts crafter on SCS yesterday, and she lives just about 5 miles from me! We should all have a meetup! Hope your 4th was great :)

I love how with these color challenges you always use a lot of white, it makes the colors look totally different, and clean and crisp.
