CR84FN24, CardPatterns #111, & Home Decor Challenge in the Moxie Fab World

Hi friends!  I'm back with one last post for today.  Sorry to overwhelm you with three in one day!  This one uses the gorgeous colors at CR84FN this week.  Seriously, can you go wrong with aqua and light blue?  I think not.

I made a home decor item for the Home Decor Challenge in the Moxie Fab World, a framed piece that will be a Mother's Day gift for my MIL.  I loosely based it on the sketch at CardPatterns and planned to go with a square design, but I couldn't find a square frame that I like so I adapted the sketch to a vertical design.

This project looks so much nicer in person than I could capture in photos.  I'm really happy with the way it turned out.  It is a very similar design to THIS CARD that I made for the January PTI Blog Hop. I stamped the quilt design in Dark Chocolate ink on Rustic Cream cardstock and colored it with Copic markers.  Then I stamped and colored the spool of thread, needle, and sentiment.

You can't see it in the photos, but the quilt portion of the cardstock is debossed with the Linen & Canvas impression plate to give it a little texture, and I scored two lines below that.  As the final touch, I added a row of cross stitches under the sentiment with aqua embroidery floss.

All supplies from Papertrey Ink unless noted
Cardstock:  Rustic Cream
Stamps:  Quilter's Sampler
Ink:  Dark Chocolate, Copic markers
Tools:  Linen & Canvas impression plate; Scoring board (Martha Stewart)
Accessories:  DMC floss, wood frame

I can't wait to give this to my MIL!  She loves distressed wood frames and primitive, homespun decor so I think she will really appreciate this.

Thanks for stopping by again!  I appreciate all of your wonderful comments and visits!  I hope you have a fantastic Friday!

Your Mother In Law is going to go GAGA over this!!! It seriously looks like a store bought item, so perfect! I just love how you did the little "x" stitches and then left room for the stamp to fit perfectly in between. It seriously is going to be the best gift!
