Good morning, Papertrey fans! It has been a few months since I've been able to participate in the Papertrey Blog Hop, so I'm excited to be able to play along today.
This month's challenge is to dust off a set that has yet to see any ink or hasn't been used for a while. I knew exactly what set that would be for me. I bought Quilter's Sampler last fall because I love the homespun images and darling sentiments. But I hadn't managed to create anything with it until now.
I kept the coloring simple, choosing just two shades of blue Copic markers and coloring on Rustic White cardstock. A tip for using this set: it helps to sketch light pencil lines in a grid pattern before stamping to line up the squares.
I cut out the quilt block with a Spellbinders Nestie, then added a scalloped square mat die cut from Aqua Mist cardstock. The block is attached with foam adhesive to the Rustic White base. I pierced holes around the perimeter and hand stitched with aqua floss, then added two little "X's" on each side of the sentiment.
All supplies from Papertrey Ink unless noted
Cardstock: Rustic White, Aqua Mist
Stamps: Quilter's Sampler
Ink: Inkadinkadoo (Black), Copic markers (BG13, B0000)
Tools: Spellbinders (square, scalloped square dies)
Accessories: DMC floss
Here's a look at the inside, too. I just stamped a row of the quilt squares at the bottom and colored them in.
Thanks so much for hopping by today! I can't wait to see what other sets everyone has put to use today (thought it will probably cause my wish list to grow even more!). Have a great day!
