PDCC #73 & Card Patterns #107

Hi there!  I'm back to share a card for two challenges tonight.  I planned to post it tomorrow, but then I saw that the PDCC ends tonight and realized I'd better get it linked up!

I loved these colors at The Play Date Cafe as soon as I saw them!  What a gorgeous inspiration photo!  I paired up this combo with a lovely sketch at Card Patterns.

I chose to use PTI's Plum Pudding and Summer Sunrise and SU's Rose Red.  The plum card base is debossed with the Music Score impression plate for a subtle texture.  A wide strip of rose ribbon is layered over rose cardstock, and Summer Sunrise eyelet borders peek out from underneath.

I was fortunate enough to win the new Vintage Labels 18 stamp set from Waltzingmouse a few weeks ago, so I inked it up for this card with Perfect Plum ink.  I stamped two of the labels, cut them out and layered them with foam tape.  I don't have the dies for these labels yet, but they were easy to cut out by hand!

Cardstock:  Papertrey Ink (Plum Pudding, Summer Sunrise, white), Stampin' Up! (Rose Red)
Stamps:  Waltzingmouse (Vintage Labels 18), Papertrey Ink (Signature Series:  Dress Form)
Ink:  Stampin' Up! (Perfect Plum)
Tools:  Papertrey Ink (eyelet border die, Music Score impression plate), We R Memory Keepers (Corner Chomper)
Accessories:  Stampin' Up! (Rose Red ribbon), Me & My Big Ideas (rhinestone)

Just one other tip I thought I'd share.  I've noticed that when using a clear stamp with any of Stampin' Up!'s Classic dye inks, the ink tends to bead up on the stamp and leaves an uneven impression.  A simple fix is to use a Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the image and stamp it a second time.  You can see what a difference it makes in this before and after photo:

Thanks for stopping by, friends!  Have a good one!

Oh my. I love the layered labels Christina, and they way the orange-gold is peeking out sets off the entire color combo. Your bow is downright perfect.

How on earth did I miss this card? Christina it's just beautiful and that's a fab tip on the stamping too!

I've been having heaps of problems with SU inks and clear stamps, but just today I rubbed the stamp with that funny looking rubber that SU sells which removes glue residue ect, then I wiped the stamp clean with a baby wipe and it stamped crystal clear! Give that a try too!

I noticed the same thing with the Stampin' UP! inks. To get a better image, I first ink my stamp with VersaMark and then my colored ink. I get a crisp image every time. Love your card!
