PDCC #71, FTL #130, & a Giveaway!

Hello out there!  Tonight I have one card to share, then a giveaway to announce, so stick around until the bottom of the post!

Before I get to my card, I wanted to mention that if you came by my blog today looking for the latest Curtain Call Color Challenge, I'm sad to say that Stacey has decided to bring the challenge to an end.  I'm as surprised and disappointed as many of you, and I wish Stacey all the best in her future endeavors!  I will always be incredibly grateful to her for her encouragement and support, including the invitation to join the Design Team as a Guest Designer last summer and then as a regular contributor for the last six months.  Her eye for color and gorgeous creations have been truly inspiring, and her challenge will most definitely be missed!

Okay, speaking of challenges, I have definitely been neglecting some of my favorites lately and tried to catch up on a couple this weekend.  This card is for the "Color Splash" challenge at The Play Date Cafe, which means black and white with just a splash of color.  This week the color is the designer's choice, and I went with red.

I also used this week's sketch at Clean & Simple, a definite keeper.

For the top panel, I pulled out WPlus9's Poinsettia Patterns to stamp a background.  Love that this set works year round and is great for making your own patterned paper.

The black cardstock strip at the bottom is debossed with PTI's Diamonds impression plate.  The label is die cut and stamped with Fillable Frames #4 and a sentiment from Delightful Dahlia.

Cardstock:  Papertrey Ink (Pure Poppy, True Black, white)
Stamps:  WPlus9 (Poinsettia Patterns), Papertrey Ink (Fillable Frames #4, Delightful Dahlia)

Ink:  Inkadinkadoo (Black)
Tools:  Papertrey Ink (Fillable Frames #4 die, Diamonds impression plate)
Accessories:  Michaels (ribbon), Queen & Co. (pearls), thread
I mentioned recently that the one year anniversary of my blog is coming up soon, so I thought it would be fun to have a couple of giveaways leading up to the big day on March 20.  To kick things off, one lucky person will win the stamp set "A Flower for All Seasons" from Stampin' Up!, as seen in the Sale-a-bration catalog.

This giveaway is open to Followers of my blog.  I will be happy to ship internationally.

For your chance to win, tell me in the comments section of THIS POST whether or not you plan to attend CHA Summer in Chicago.  I will be visiting my family in Indiana in July, so I am 80% positive that I will be attending this year, and I'm so excited to have the chance to meet some of you!

You have until Friday, March 11, 2011 at 11:59 EST to leave a comment.  One winner will be randomly selected and announced here on Saturday, March 12.

Thanks for stopping by, friends!  Good luck!

Your card is so pretty! You out-did the sketch for sure! I'm not sure if I'll be attending CHA. I really haven't even thought about it. I've never been, but I would LOVE to go!!! I live in TN so it's not too far of a drive to get there...

I was in shock when I read Stacey's post about closing the Curtain Call. I owe her so much for her confidence in my abilities and having me on her DT. Will have to go back and do the ones I have missed since I was on the DT so I can get my fix.

Congrats on one year coming up :) Doesnt' the time fly by?!! No CHA for me :( Maybe one year :)

Oh you've done beautifully with this sketch! I got a card done yesterday but just can't get a decent pic of it. Think its because its in a landscape orientation and you know I HATE doing landscape cards! lol

As for me attending CHA - ohhhhh totally in my dreams! I could just imagine me standing there oogling at all the PTI goodness (thats where I'd spend all my time! lol) I do hope you have a fab time there though.......I reckon it would be an AWESOME experience!

Fabulous take on the sketch!
Your card came out so pretty indeed.
Oh, and I totally WISH I was going to CHA. I have been dying to go to one, so that I can meet all of my blog friends. However, sadly, I won't be attending this year's. I just have too much stuff going on with work and school. But hopefully next year.... (crossing my fingers).

How I would love to visit CHA this summer especially as is it in Chicago where my brother lives. However, I already have to attend a wedding in Toronto this summer and don't think I'll manage to get off work twice not to mention afford 2 different trips from Bermuda. :( I will just have to live vicariously through my favourite bloggers so take lots of notes if you make it there! :)
