Welcome back, friends! Are you ready for a new Curtain Call Color Challenge? Stacey selected these sweet winter mittens as our inspiration this week. Don't they look cozy? I also used Kazan's sketch from 2 Sketches 4 You. So sad to see this great challenge blog come to an end, but I've had fun playing along and wish Laura and Kazan the very best!
These colors inspired me to make a Valentine's Day card that I will probably give to my sweet daughter. She loves purple and pink and, of course, cupcakes! (except she still calls them "pupcakes"!) I've had this patterned paper with various punny Valentine's sentiments since last year and finally took the opportunity to cut into it. The houndstooth paper is from Making Memories.
I stamped Hero Arts Ledger with Bravo Burgundy onto cream cardstock, then stitched the houndstooth paper and a lavender Victorian Lace border at the bottom. I stamped "be mine" using Martha Stewart letter stamps, then stitched a burgundy heart around "mine".
The cupcake paper was matted on red cardstock that I die cut with a Spellbinders label and trimmed to fit the card front. I attached it with foam adhesive and added a few lavender buttons from my stash.
Cardstock: Bazzill (red, lavender), Papertrey Ink (Vintage Cream)
Patterned paper: K & Company, Making Memories
Stamps: Hero Arts (Ledger), Martha Stewart (Serif Font)
Ink: Stampin' Up! (Bravo Burgundy), Clearsnap (Chianti)
Tools: Spellbinders (Labels 1), Papertrey Ink (Victorian Lace border die)
Accessories: buttons, DMC floss, thread

Christina this is soooo cute! You really rocked the challenge. I just didn't see the possibilities in these colors, the mittens are cute, I just didn't think I could translate them into a card. You blew that theory! The stitching is absolutely perfect! I might have to keep that idea in mind because you know how much I love to sew on my cards.
