Color Inspiration--Jewel Tones

Welcome back, friends!  I decided to tackle another color combo for the Color Inspiration for Card Makers Week at Moxie Fab World.  This time it's the Jewel Tones, and they had me stumped!  But I was determined to check this off my list, so here's what I came up with.

The most challenging part for me is finding just the right products to match these colors.  I don't have a lot of Bazzill cardstock, and there is a limited selection where I live.  I settled on Stampin' Up!'s Elegant Eggplant and Daffodil Delight, plus some October Afternoon papers and Bazzill's Sugar Cookie.

The card itself is pretty self-explanatory.  In retrospect, I wish I had used some pinking shears along the bottom edge of the Eggplant strip, but it's stitched down now so it's going to stay!  One detail that just won't show up in my photos is that the Eggplant cardstock is debossed with text from PTI's Book Print impression plate.  A subtle detail that adds a lot in real life.

Cardstock:  Stampin' Up! (Daffodil Delight, Elegant Eggplant), Bazzill (Sugar Cookie)
Patterned Paper:  October Afternoon (Fly a Kite)
Stamp:  Verve (Accent Notes)
Ink:  Ranger Adirondack (Eggplant)
Tools:  Papertrey Ink (Limitless Layers, Book Print impression plate)
Accessories:  Me & My Big Ideas (rhinestones), seam binding, thread

That's all I have for today.  Thanks for stopping by tonight, and if you take part in this challenge, I'd love to see what you create!  Have a good one!

I know! This combo was rough, wasn't it? (I have a post going up about it tomorrow.) But you nailed it! It looks fab, and the gemstones were a perfect touch.

Love this bold card Christina. That PP is subtle but striking. I like the strip flat, but can see where pinking shears would look good too.

Great use of the colors. You made it look as if you chose the colors rather than them being chosen for you. Fabulous.
