Color Inspiration for Card Makers--Monochromatic

Hi there, friends!  Thanks to the many of you who left such nice comments on my post for the PTI Blog Hop.  I'm not even one-third of the way through the posts yet, so if I haven't been by your blog to return the favor, I hope to visit soon!

Today I decided to tackle one more challenge over at the Moxie Fab World, this time the Monochromatics Color Challenge for Color Inspiration for Card Makers Week.  This one had me stumped for a while because of what seems to be an error in the description of the colors over on the challenge post.  The Bazzill equivalents are listed as Bubblegum, Precious, and Pinkini, but in the magazine (which I finally found a copy of yesterday!), the colors used are Chablis, Fussy, and Pinkini.  This makes a big difference, as Bubblegum is a very bright pink, and these shades are much softer.

Okay, with that little technicality out of the way, I settled on keeping my card design very simple (shocking, I know!).  I embossed Elegant Lines onto the Pinkini cardstock, then tucked a sentiment into the open corner using SU!'s Rose Red craft ink and heat embossed.  I stitched this panel to a square of Petunia cardstock (a very close match to Chablis), then adhered the panel to my card base.  The finishing touch is a trio of clear rhinestones that I colored to match with a Copic marker.

Cardstock:  Bazzill (Petunia, Fussy, Pinkini)
Stamps:  Papertrey Ink (Healing Touch Sentiments)
Ink:  Stampin' Up! (Rose Red), Copic marker (RV34)
Tools:  Stampin' Up! (Elegant Lines embossing folder), We R Memory Keepers (Corner Chomper)
Accessories:  Me & My Big Ideas (clear rhinestones), Stampendous (clear embossing powder), thread

I have such a hard time photographing light colors, and no matter how nice it looks in Photoshop it always looks darker once I upload it to Blogger.  Anyone else have this problem?

Thanks for stopping by today!  I have some shoveling to do later, but hopefully I can find a little more crafting time tonight.  Enjoy your day!
