ColourQ #86

Well hello there, strangers!  Did you think I had abandoned you?  The last week has been busy, and I have had a serious lack of energy for crafting.  But today's ColourQ challenge got me back on track with a fun color combo and seriously cute inspiration photo!

I've been wanting to use these little teacups to make a CAS card, and this seemed like the perfect opportunity.  I die cut two white cups and stamped them with Early Espresso and red.  The third cup is cut from So Saffron cardstock and stamped with Saffron ink.  For the Daffodil, I added some baker's twine from The Twinery to the handle.

Cardstock:  Stampin' Up! (So Saffron), Papertrey Ink (white)
Stamps:  Papertrey Ink (Tea for Two Additions, Background Basics:  Retro, Ribbon Tails)
Ink:  Stampin' Up! (Early Espresso, So Saffron), Clearsnap (Cranberry)
Tools:  Papertrey ink (teacup die), We R Memory Keepers (Corner Chomper)
Accessories:  The Twinery (baker's twine), Papertrey ink (button), Michaels (pearls), DMC floss

My idea was to embellish each cup differently and then add a sentiment that emphasizes being unique.  I didn't have any pre-made sentiments that fit, so I combined parts of two sentiments from PTI's Ribbon Tails (the "be" from "best wishes" and the "you" from "thank you").  The lines are from Background Basics:  Retro, stamped in Early Espresso.

I'm kind of in love with this simple card.  What do you think of these colors?  I can't wait to see how you use them!

Thanks for your visit today, friends!  Have a good one!

Aaaaahh! I love how you did the stripes and the break for the sentiment! Perfectly placed under the tea cup, no less! I WILL be stealing that idea. Brilliant!

Adorable card, Christina!! Love the cups and their unique feature and way to mix the sentiments to get yours. Great take on this week's colours. I totally messed up on last week's colours and forgot to add it to Mr. Linky!! Ugh!! Won't do that again any time soon LOL! Have a great week.

I don't think there is a card out there that you've made that I don't like, haven't been inspired or just have sat here and stared at it. Wow, I love this one!

LOVE this card... I really love how your sentiment is "in" the lines stamp. Very clever.
Your colors against the white is spectacular and it really POPS.
Of course I like any card related to coffee...yeah..I'm one of those. Hugs.

I love the lines you've used for your sentiment!! That just makes this card but I also think how you've embellished each tea cup is pretty nifty too!
