It's Friday! Yippee! For those of you in the U.S., I hope you have a fun and/or relaxing holiday weekend planned. I hope to do a little shopping at some thrift stores and maybe catch up on some projects around the house. What will you be doing?
Today's card is for the sketch at CardPatterns and the Scrappy Saturday Challenge at WeeMemories, which is a forest theme.
It seemed like the perfect time to use some papers from The Green Stack by DCWV. I had cut out this cute little owl and branch a while ago and didn't use it, so I built my card around it. All of the dp is from this stack, including the mushrooms.
Cardstock: Papertrey Ink (Dark Chocolate)
Patterned paper: DCWV (The Green Stack)
Stamps: Doodlebug Designs (Doodlebug Alphabet)
Ink: Papertrey Ink (Dark Chocolate)
Accessories: Papertrey Ink (buttons), thread, DMC floss
I wasn't sure I liked this card until I added the stitching. I love the contrast of the brown stitches against the lighter colors.
I added a smaller owl on the inside:
