Curtain Call Act 28 & Sweet Sunday Sketch 67

Happy Friday! I am so ready for the weekend, how about you? It has been so hard to find crafting time this week, but I have a card for 2 challenges today. Stacey's latest Curtain Call Color Challenge had me thinking masculine, but my card wound up decidedly UNmasculine! I think a big reason for that is the sketch I used from the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge. This one just calls out for a big, layered flower!

Since I do not yet have any supplies or paper from Stampin' Up, I made do with the colors I had on hand. This pretty blue patterned paper seemed like the perfect backdrop for a handmade layered flower. To make it I cut 3 scalloped circles with my Nestabilities, all the same size. I spritzed each one with water just to dampen it a bit, then crumpled it up in a ball. After unfolding it, I carefully peeled the cardstock apart into 2 layers. It was a lot easier than I expected. Once all of the layers were separated (6 total) I poked a hole in the center and inserted a brad to hold them together. I crumpled up each of the layers again over the center brad, then unfolded them to give them a puffed up, rumpled look. I think it would have looked even nicer if I had inked them up a bit first. Finally I just popped a button on top of the brad using a glue dot.

Cardstock: Bazzill
Patterned paper: Frances Meyer
Stamp: Fiskars
Ink: Papertrey Ink (Dark Chocolate), Jo-Ann stores (white)
Tools: Spellbinders (die), Fiskars (border punch)
Ribbon: Wright's
Twine: Papertrey Ink
other: thread, button, brad

That's all for today! Time to get out and enjoy some of this beautiful weather before it rains tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by!
