The 12 Kits of Holidays--March 2013

Hello,  I'm back!  I've taken a much-needed break from crafting, but I'm ready to share the latest installment of The 12 Kits of Holidays with you.  What a fun kit we had to work with this month, courtesy of Tracey.

The bright colors and spring theme of this kit were just what I needed after the long winter we've endured here in Massachusetts.  Let's get right to the cards, shall we?

The first one is my favorite, with just some negative space to highlight the colorful patterned paper, a sentiment banner, and a trio of pink hearts on a navy background.  Love this design.

Cardstock:  Papertrey Ink (Enchanted Eventing, Raspberry Fizz), WPlus9 Design Studio (White)
Patterned paper:  Pebbles (Sunnyside)
Stamp:  My Favorite Things (Clearly Sentimental About Art)
Tools:  Papertrey Ink (Fillable Frames #11 die, banner die, Linen & Canvas impression plate), Simon Says Stamp (Holiday Shapes die)

I tried to use lots of the patterned paper in this kit, so this card makes it the star!  Tracey included the polka dotted tag, and I added the smaller tag using one of the sentiments from the kit.

Cardstock:  Papertrey Ink (Orange Zest), WPlus9 Design Studio (White)
Patterned paper:  Pebbles (Sunnyside)
Stamp:  Paper Smooches (Spring Fling)
Tools:  Papertrey Ink (Tiny Tags die, Tremendous Tags die)
Other:  The Twinery (baker's twine)

Again, trying to use more of the pretty papers in this kit, I focused on this larger pattern, framing it with a negative die cut and adding a simple sentiment treatment.

Cardstock:  Papertrey Ink (Hibiscus Burst), WPlus9 Design Studio (White)
Patterned paper:  Pebbles (Sunnyside)
Stamp:  Papertrey Ink (Egg Hunt)
Tools:  Spellbinders (Labels 18 die)
Other:  Papertrey Ink (buttons), DMC floss

Tracey included several colorful eggs in the kit, so I grouped a few of them on a strip of green "grass" and a panel of fun, pink chevron paper.

Cardstock:  Papertrey Ink (Hawaiian Shores), WPlus9 Design Studio (White)
Patterned paper:  Pebbles (Sunnyside)
Stamps:  Paper Smooches (Spring Fling)
Tool:  Silhouette Cameo (original die cut by Tracey)

Finally, one of the large die-cut words included in this kit (I have several more I can't wait to use!).  I added the word "happy", colored a fun little flower and added a button center, and used a cheerful yellow cardstock base.

Cardstock:  Papertrey Ink (Summer Sunrise, Raspberry Fizz), WPlus9 Design Studio (White)
Patterned paper:  Pebbles (Sunnyside)
Stamps:  Paper Smooches (Spring Fling), WPlus9 Design Studio (Spring Post)
Ink:  Stampin' Up! (Melon Mambo), Copic markers
Tools:  Papertrey Ink (Linen & Canvas impression plate), Silhouette Studio (original die cuts by Tracey)
Other:  Papertrey Ink (button), The Twinery (baker's twine)

I thoroughly enjoyed creating with this kit and still have it on my craft desk, ready to CASE the rest of the girls!  You won't want to miss their creations, either:

Beautiful job Christina - You did so many clever things with dies here - the windows, creating a scene or a pop of color - and you paired up your papers beautifully - I love the turquoise in the center egg that matches the background. You have a beautiful way of seeing the ingredients and putting them together in a spectacular way!

These are all so wonderful. I love how you have made the patterned papers the star of your cards. I tried too, but didn't succeed like this. So many great ways to make the paper shine, and I will be casing your ideas with the next kit. So happy you got a break, and now you are all ready to begin crafting again, all refreshed. Happy Easter.

So happy to see you back. :) I love all the color in these cards! I'm impressed that every single one has a color card base. Your layouts are wonderful. I especially love your second card. Everything about it just makes me smile. I'm tempted to CASE it, but I think I would really just want an exact replica.
