Hi friends! I've participated in very few challenges of late, so I jumped at the opportunity to make something for The Play Date Cafe's second anniversary. Congratulations on two wonderful years, ladies!
This week I'm also joining the Make it Monday challenge to use layered mats and frames. Easy peasy!
For my color palette, I used PTI's Ripe Avocado and Lemon Tart and Stampin' Up!'s Rose Red. I would have used PTI's new Autumn Rose, but I am still (very anxiously) waiting for my September Release winnings. They said it would be 4-6 weeks, but I had no idea what torture it would be waiting for it to arrive! My heart skips a beat every time I hear the mail or UPS truck rumble down our street.
Okay, on to the card! I started with a Rose Red base and die cut a window with Mat Stack 1. I layered a piece of white cardstock behind the window and stamped it with one of the frames from the Mat Stack 1 Collection.
I die cut Fillable Frames #11 from Lemon Tart cardstock and clear embossed the frame from the set. The sentiment is from the Mat Stack 1 Collection. I centered the label over the Mat Stack window and popped it up on foam dots.
The leaves are die cut and stamped with Harvest Berries and embellished with Ripe Avocado buttons and a bit of SU's Old Olive striped ribbon.
To add some interest to the bottom of the card, I used a faux embossing technique. I die cut three strips of Rose Red cardstock with the Victorian Lace border die and adhered them directly to the card base. I think it adds a fun textural detail.
Cardstock: Papertrey Ink (Ripe Avocado, Lemon Tart, white), Stampin' Up! (Rose Red)
Stamps: Papertrey Ink (Mat Stack 1 Collection, Fillable Frames #11)
Ink: Stampin' Up! (Rose Red), Papertrey Ink (Ripe Avocado), Versamark
Tools: Papertrey Ink (Mat Stack 1, Fillable Frames #11, Victorian Lace, Harvest Berries dies)
Accessories: Papertrey Ink (buttons), Stampin' Up! (ribbon), Stampendous (embossing powder), DMC floss
Be sure to come back tomorrow to see my Halloween goodie bags! They turned out SO cute this year, if I do say so myself. *smile*
Thanks for visiting!

Gorgeous! Love the faux embossing and the leaf tucked under the buttons.
My heart skips a beat for you to get the goodies too! :)
This is an awesome card, Christina! I love how you used the border punch along the bottom of the card.
oh, I love this! What a great use of the colours and that faux embossing is so effective!! ACK!! I hate waiting too!! But it will be like Christmas when it arrives :) I still don't have my anniversary sets!! Hopefully they come with the set I won on the hop last month :) Hope this week is going well :)
Love the colour on colour layered border across the card! Adds so much dimension. Great focal sentiment and use of the PDC colours.
Beautiful card! I love the Faux embossing technique you used here. The little ginko leaves are such a sweet touch!
I think that your card is great. I haven't tried that embossing technique yet but it looks great on your card. Oh, and I can't even imagine how hard it is to wait for that whole collection of PTI winnings to get to your house. When I place an order over there it is just so hard to wait for it to come!!!! and that not like a whole month's release set coming to my door.
Love this card... esp. the faux embossing! So cool!

Super stuff! Lovely faux embossing and details! :)
A beautiful card, I love the color combination, but especially love the faux embossing, I really thought you had found a new way to emboss, it's a great idea. The touch of ribbon is small, but oh so a perfect.
Absolutely divine! Love the attention to detail here and your fresh beautiful colors. This card reminds me of why I purchased the eyelet die from PTI, because a while back you had used that die in the same application as this vintage one and I was enamored as I am today! Got to pull that out again!
Oh my god. This card is amazing. So much going on, and yet still so CAS. As everyone's said, LOVE that embossed look (and thanks for saying how you did it).
Fabulous card! I love every detail of it. The tone on tone embossing is sooo striking. Excellent!
