CASE Study Second Anniversary Blog Hop--Week 2

The celebration continues this week for CASE Study's Second Anniversary!  You should have arrived here from the amazingly inspiring blog of Cristina Kowalczyk, but if you're just starting the hop, you can find the entire list of this week's participants at the CASE Study blog.

There are prizes to be won for leaving comments along the way, so don't forget to spread the love.  ♥

Last week's Blog Hop featured many current and past Designers and Muses displaying their signature style.  This week we're being asked to think outside the box by creating something using a style or technique outside of our comfort zone.

My style has definitely evolved since I started blogging, but I'd like to think I've settled into a mostly clean & simple style.  So for this week I decided to attempt shabby chic.

I layered several papers from My Mind's Eye, added lots of contrasting stitching, a handmade paper flower, and distressed edges to give this a vintage, shabby look.  What do you think?  I kind of like it.  :)

Cardstock:  Papertrey Ink (Kraft)
Patterned paper:  My Mind's Eye (Lost & Found)
Stamps:  WPlus9 Design Studio (Very Vintage Greetings), Papertrey Ink (Fancy Flourishes)
Ink:  Memento (Tuxedo Black), Stampin' Up! (Pool Party)
Tools:  Papertrey Ink (flower dies)
Accessories:  Martha Stewart Crafts (paper doily), Michaels (flowers), Papertrey Ink (button), Queen & Co. (pearls), thread

I'll keep the rest of the chit chat to a minimum so you can be on your way to the next stop on the hop:  it's my blogging buddy Jean Martin!  Now there's a girl who can ROCK the shabby chic!

Thanks for stopping by, friends!  Enjoy the hop, and don't forget to comment along the way!

This card is beautiful!! I love the colours and the layers :) also, I'm so glad that you have proven that CAS card makers can pull off the shabby chic style :) I have attempted shabby chic on many occasions and failed miserably! I am inspired to have another go now though :)
